Building Bat Houses is a great way to protect and keep bats around your home. A three chamber bat house can roost up to 100 bats. A single little brown bat can eat 1000 mosquitos an hour. Bats eat insects, nectar, pollen, fruit, frogs, fish, rodents, blood, and even each other. But most United States bats eat insects. It is said that the 20 million Mexican free-tailed bats in Bracken Cave, Texas eat up to 20 tons of insects a night during the summer. So bats are great for pest control. They are also fun to have around and watch fly.
If you want to Build a Bat House (they also sell bat houses) go to Bat Conservation International for information about all aspects of building bat houses, including some free bat house plans.
